Brought in my five and a half month old with concern about the amount of spit up he has and because of this he has had trouble gaining weight. We saw doctor Dr. Rajeev Nagpal and had a terrible experience. He was unprofessional and had terrible bedside manner. I came in with concern for my child and was looking for answers and advice on what could be done. Instead of giving options on what could be done he told me that my son was malnourished and I was starving my child even though he has gained 3lbs since January 10th. We will not be returning and would never recommend this facility to anyone. I’ve never had such a terrible experience with a doctor. On top of the terrible experience with the doctor the Joliet facility was dirty, ill maintained and the staff was rude when I asked for direction on where I needed to go. This was the first and last time I will reach out to this facility.

My son Gael was 10 years old when he first met Dr. Rajeev Nagpal. Since the very beginning he was very kind but straight to the point. He took his time to explain to my son and I what did “elevated liver enzymes” meant and even drew a picture for us to understand. He plaid a big role on my son’s decision to eat better and change his lifestyle. Almost five years later my son’s labs finally came back with a positive outcome. Dr. Rajeev not only cared about my son’s wellbeing but he also joked around and made him laugh. I am thankful that we were referred to him and thankful for the great treatment we always received.

The other parents that were in the office were disgruntled. A parent was having problems getting complete medical records for their children. Another parent was complaining of how no one answers the phone when they call. I was concerned about seeing the doctor because everyone was so unhappy with the staff that works at this location. I had a very good experience with my child seeing the doctor. He seemed very thorough and concerned with my child’s medical issues. I had to add some information to my child’s history after the appointment and called back after the appointment. The man that answered the phone was very polite and took the information for the doctor. I would most likely see this doctor again in a different location.

We love Dr. Rodriguez! She diagnosed our daughter after years with other doctors that couldn’t. When my son started having issues she was the first one we called. She is compassionate and really cares about her patients. I have no trouble contacting the office for any reason and her staff – nurses and receptionists are all great as well and very helpful. I bring my 18 month old to Dr. Smith, and we have had nothing but wonderful experiences. Dr. Smith is thorough, kind, and calm with my son. He takes the time to encourage us, explain everything we need to know, and answer our vast amounts of questions without acting like he needs to get to his next patient. We have to drive almost an hour to get to his office, but we would do that over and over again to get his level of care!

I’m not really sure as I couldn’t go in to the appointment with my daughter and her fiancé and the baby. I wasn’t very happy that nothing was done. However the office staff was pleasant and I didn’t take long at all. My grandson is still projectile vomiting. It’s not just normal spit up like she said. However we go back in six months. And the records weren’t sent to my grandsons pediatrician like she requested. But overall it was an OK experience

I’ve been seeing Dr.Smith for a year for my daughters severe acid reflux and milk protein allergy. We’ve been through a lot the past year and continuously make visits to check in with Dr Smith and he always gives us the best care every visit. We are exhausted eith then vomiting 2-4 times a week but we’re hopeful and Dr Smith is giving us every option to explore so we have answers. We are very thankful for him and he genuinely cares for his patients and makes sure to thoroughly go through the checklist is questions every visit.

My significant other and I took our daughter to visit and it was just an amazing experience. We both have disabilities. Most doctors we go to seem to assume that the child we are with is not ours and is the person who has driven us kid. we were not judged. We were treated like we were people and that to me made my year. As a person with a disability, I would prefer you to ask rather than assume and do not talk to the other people that are with us like we don’t exist and we are not people. This was the first place I have been to that treated us as equals.

My daughter has had Dr. Rodriguez as her pediatric G.I. specialist for the last 5 years, and she has been nothing but incredible! There no perfect words to describe her clinically as well as personally, but to say that she is exceptional. She has walked my daughter and her parents (us) through the initial diagnosis of ulcerative colitis, and 5 years later, has carried us all into a comfortable period of clinical remission. There have been lots of ups and downs for each of us (mentally and physically) along the way, but she has been absolutely phenomenal throughout it all! We are truely blessed to have her caring for our child.

Dr. Rodriguez gave my daughter her life back! My daughter has been suffering for years and we have seen so many specialists at the best hospitals and no one could figure it out. We heard everything from eating disorders to faking it because they didn’t know what was wrong with her. Finally Dr. Rodriguez – even through the complication of a pandemic diagnosed my daughter. My daughter and I have been seeing Dr. Nagpal for about 8 yrs or more. From our first visit Dr. Nagpal has always made us feel important, never rushed our visit to move to the next unless all questions and concerns were answered (this is why you may be waiting on your appointment a little longer). He is professional, who is down to earth and not aggressive on his approach or diagnosis. He takes his time and is very knowledgeable doctor. Amazing Doctor. Takes deep interest in his patients and follows up diligently. He was able to get us tested the very next day on Colonoscopy and endoscopy and it was our first time . During this unprecedent time with COVID-19, Dr. Nagpal has been nothing short of amazing. I was very disappointed in this place of business. The receptionist was very rude acted like any questions I asked were putting her out. Dr nagpal was very very rude in how he talked to me and my wife. I tried to explain to him why my daughters pediatrician sent her to see him in the first place and he said I don’t want to know about her pediatrician I want to know about her very rude in how he said it. Wouldn’t you like to know why the pediatrician sent her to see you in the first place?!?!! Also tells us to fill out this chart daily and if you don’t fill it out don’t bother coming back is what he told us!!!! First of all of course we would do what we were asked to do but you do not have to talk to people like your better than them because your the dr and we are not!!! I already told my daughters pediatrician we did not like this guy and wanted to go elsewhere. When you go to a dr of any sort you do not want to feel uncomfortable you want to feel safe and to know your going to be taken care of with respect and no ignorance. I do not recommend this guy to anyone unless you like being talked down on.

Dr. Smith was knowledgeable. I believe he diagnosed my son correctly. I’ve been to one other pediatric GI and Dr. Smith was definitely more thorough. I did feel slightly rushed during the appointment. My son is 8 weeks old. I was trying to feed him during the appointment while recalling information the doctor was asking. The doctor seemed to grow slightly impatient. It was my first appointment with him. I’ll try to be more prepared at the next appointment. Definitely not the warm and fuzzy type, but if he can help my son, then I don’t care.

My son is his patient, and recently had a procedure done with Dr. Nagpal in the outpatient surgical suite near his Joliet office. The whole process was seamless, from registration prior to the procedure, to the wheelchair out to the parking lot. Dr. Nagpal was prompt and visited us before and after the procedure. All of his staff are always professional and courteous, at his office and they were at the outpatient center. I highly recommend Dr. Nagpal if you need a pediatric GI doctor.

I would never recommend the doctor to anyone. First the office was filthy. Dust everywhere and the table was broken. We waited over an hour to see the doctor, and they had so many patients waiting, people were standing up. The doctor was very abrupt, didn’t bother to try and get to know,us, just wrote some stuff down and scared my child. He told us to go get a bunch of test and didnt even tell us where we needed to go to get the tests done. Then he walked out of the room. We will never go back there. It was awful!

Dr. Smith was great at asking questions, including our daughter in the conversation, and explaining options. Great experience today. We arrived at 9:30AM and was greeted by the receptionist in GI. She ease my daughter nerve before the procedure by making her laugh. When she went the back all the nurse that was at the station greeted us with a smile and said Hello. The nurses was great each one interducing them self before they walk in our room and explaining everything at each step. I also observe the nurses helping each other when one was busy with other patient. The Dr.Rodriguez was great, she was on time and stop by to greet us before the procedure and then also stop by after the procedure to explain her finding and to see if we had any question before she left. Overall the whole experience was great.

Dr. Nagpal explained everything going on with my son in great detail. He worked with my husband and I to determine a plan of care that we could all agree on. My son also loves to pretend he is Dr. Nagpal and take care of all of his stuffed animals that aren’t feeling well. He treated my son with respect and made him feel comfortable and at ease. The nurses are very knowledgeable and kind. They answered all of my questions and reassured me of my worries. The office staff is also sweet and personable. Staff at outpatient surgery, from beginning to end, was polite, kind and courteous. They explained all that would happen before, during and after the procedure. Dr. Nagpal is the best pediatric gastroenterologist for our son. He has a positive, proactive attitude and is always approachable with questions or concerns.
